Throughout 2013, Brussels was discussing a new draft Directive that aims to deploy alternative fuels infrastructure across the EU Member States. The long-term goal behind this initiative is to break the over-dependence of European transport on oil. In the shorter or medium term, the Directive is designed to increase the attractiveness of cars powered by electricity, gas or hydrogen.
