In April 2011, Abu Dhabi's Department of Transport (DoT) was presented with the unique challenge of establishing a Transport Police Unit to protect its evolving transport system. Abu Dhabi's 2030 Plan has set investment into motion establishing a world-class transport system. The system will eventually include all modes of transport. When analyzing the challenges of a new transport system, it is vital to recognize passenger and employee safety and security.
