Maybe when hopping on the bus or tram is as intuitive as reaching for the car keys in your pocket, people's everyday mobility habits will undergo a step change. And when your smart ticket is combined with a bike or shared car right outside your front door that you can drop off at the metro station, the offer starts to become really interesting. But have we really tapped into the deeper consumer and commercial benefits of migrating to smart ticketing yet? In the vast majority of networks, the public transport smart ticket remains limited to its core transport use.
