The smartcard as a convenient form of transport ticket is becoming the norm in major Asian cities. Transport smartcards have good penetration in major Asian cities Transport smartcards have a very good usage rate in major Asian cities today. In Hong Kong and Singapore for example, citizens have on average more than one smartcard. It is already common for service providers to launch a main card and partner with other commercial vendors to launch affiliated cards.
