We face significant eco-challenges - climate change, scarcity of raw materials, energy efficiency, pollutant reduction, cutting noise emissions - that wilt play a central role in the further development of existing energy conversion processes. Today's eco-challenges The term climate change implies the necessity to make significant reductions in emissions of climate-relevant gases (particularly carbon dioxide and methane) when supplying thermal and electrical energy. The negative repercussions for our climate of burning fossil fuels are becoming increasingly apparent.
