The Eastern Region fare and transport integration association (VOR) was founded in Vienna on 3 June 1984. Since then, VOR, in cooperation with Wiener Linien, Austrian Railways (OEBB), Wiener Lokalbahnen, Raaber Bahn and regional bus operators, has been connecting up the population in Austria's eastern region. The company receives funding to the tune of 44% each from the Vienna (Wien) and Lower Austria (Niederoesterreich) regions and a further 12% from the Burgenland region. The Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology also provides VOR with funds.
