摘要

We have all experienced it, either on a collective basis as is the case today, or in an individual capacity. The 'crisis' is the point at which everything explodes, when all that is incoherent and dysfunctional reaches a point of no return. We talk about crises in fields as varied as psychology (adolescent, mid-life, etc), the economy, climate, relationships, demographics, politics, and love-life. In each case, it is synonymous with making a break with the past. The status quo is shattered. It is the moment when you can go no further, and have no choice but to pause and go back to the beginning, take stock, and unravel the threads to find out where everything has gone wrong. What is the point of this self-questioning, you may well ask?rnAt times like this, we realise that we have a choice: to bury our heads ostrich-style while waiting for things to sort themselves out, or to move forward and face up to the situation with the courage to change things.
