In the past, traffic data from the Bus Management System (BMS), Transport Card System, Urban Expressway Transport Management System, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Traffic Monitoring System, and customer complaints were gathered separately. TOPIS, an integrated transport information and service system, was launched in 2005 to help citizens to plan their journeys and support government officials in shaping sophisticated transport policy through the collection and analysis of real time data.
