The EC-sponsored "Light Rail Thematic Network" project, abbreviated to LibeRTiN, has previously appeared In PTI (Special rail issue, Oct 2002 and 04/2003). The basic working principle of this project Is to achieve consensus between all stakeholders on harmonisation and cost reduction potential. To this end, expert workshops are held periodically. On 20-21 October 2003, the third took place in Naples, after workshops were held in Karlsruhe in October 2002 and Amsterdam in June 2003. Among the 20 operators, 56 experts from 15 countries (including Poland, Romania, Czech Republic) attended.
