If there is one reason why our journey needs are becoming increasingly more complex, it is because our activities are becoming equally as complicated like work, school, shopping, leisure. Taking as its starting point the fact that the social rhythms of a city's inhabitants have been altered drastically by factors such as the generalisation of women in work and recent working-time legislation, the Agence des Temps (time coordination agency') run by Poitiers council has introduced a set of actions designed to promote the sound apportioning of time between working life and personal life by attempting to reduce social inequalities when people are faced with problems relating to time (e.g. inequalities between men and women, between where people live, in terms of time available).
