Innovation in public transport is not always found where science fiction expects it to be. Neither is technological innovation the sole or main source of some of the most important recent innovations. This is the difficulty ( European countries) have in viewing innovation "other than technologically", which explains why people are only slowly becoming aware about the rich field of innovation lurking behind the initials BRT (Bus Rapid Transit), which, as its name singularly fails to show, does not simply start and end with the notion of "Rapid Bus". Indeed, it should be seen more in terms of the keyword (217,000 hits in GOOGLE) describing a deeply innovative approach to the following two questions: what is a high performance bus route, and what is a "mode of transport"?
