This is a review of Alison Bechdel's graphic novel, Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic. The autobiography traces Bechdel's childhood and teenage years and focuses on Alison's fraught relationship with her father. Alison's difficulty in articulating and describing her father's sexuality is tangled in her struggle to know herself. Fun Home provides a creatively complicated depiction of sexuality and can be read with future teacher educators as a way of exploring sexuality as a question instead of a container for identity.
