摘要

Der Artikel gibt ein breit gefasstes Fazit über die Evaluationen digitaler Bibliotheksangebote, die im Rahmen des Verbundprojekts e-lib.ch in der Schweiz durchgeführt wurden. Er schildert die dabei verwendeten Methoden und ihre Besonderheit im bibliothekarischen Kontext und greift zurück auf verallgemeinbare Ergebnisse, die w?hrend eines Zeitraums von mehr als drei Jahren bei der Ermittlung der Gebrauchstauglichkeit und des Nutzungswertes unterschiedlichster digitaler Angebote (u.a. Metakata-loge, Informationsportale, Manuskriptdatenbanken und digitalisierte Rara-Best?nde) gewonnen wurden. Von besonderem Interesse soll dabei auch sein, wie sich Bibliotheken zukünftig in ihrem Alltag sowie mit ?hnlich ausgerichteten Projekten zu positionieren haben, um bereits in der Projektplanung den Anforderungen eines benutzerorientierten Gestaltungsprozesses ihrer digitalen Angebote gerecht zu werden. Darüber hinaus spielen auch überlegungen zum Do-it-yourself vs. einer externen Beauftragung von Evaluationen eine Rolle.%This article draws far-reaching conclusions about the evaluations of digital library services which has been conducted in connection with the consortium ?Swiss Electronic Library (www.e-lib. Ch). It describes the methods used and their distinctive features within the library context and makes reference to generalizable findings which were gathered over a period of more than three years in regard to the utility and value of very different kinds of digital products (e.g., meta-catalogues, information portals, manuscript databases, and digitalized collections of rare books and manuscripts). Particular attention is given to the question of how, in future, libraries can incorporate these findings into their daily work, as well as position themselves and take into account the needs of the user during the planning stages of similar special projects. To this end, it is necessary to weigh the option of conducting a ?do-it-yourself? evaluation vs. commissioning an external evaluation.
