Let me start by saying two things. One, the content of the following interview was not at all what I expected when Deone first contacted me about crafting a submission. Two, the interviewees provide a fascinating tale that I will be using as a case in future courses. In fact, I recently mentioned the main theme in class last term and my class was off and running. I will elaborate on the two points below.rnMy initial expectation was the interview-actually the authors interviewed a panel of five entertainment industry executives-would describe efforts to integrate the topic of environmentalism into their products (shows, movies, events). There has been a long running debate on the influence of entertainment on social values and behavior. Much of this debate has criticized the industry for promoting unde-sired issues like gratuitous violence. So, the expectation here was a discussion on how the industry was going to use that sway to promote something desired or positive like environmentalism. Instead, the panel describes the "behind the scenes" work that represented what their organizations are doing to integrate "green" into their organizational processes that produces their shows and events.
