摘要

The aim of this experimental study is to investigate to effects of brazing temperature and amount of filler materials on strength and microstructure of the joints. Working life of the sockets used in the sawing of natural stones depends on the joining methods, parameters, and properties of socket such as microstructure. Selection of suitable joining method is an important for longer life of the sockets. Otherwise, damage occurs at the joining of socket and steel plates (DIN 2391). For this aim, joining process was performed at the temperatures of 600 and 610 degrees C by induction heating and three amounts of filler material (1.0, 1.25 and 1.5 mg) were used in the joining process. Shear test was conducted to determine the strength of the joint and microstructure was analysed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It was concluded that the highest strength was obtained from the sample joined with brazing temperature of 610 degrees C and the amount of filler material of 1.5 mg.
