The busy academic, military officer or even student trying to grapple with the development of what is typically referred to as 'unmanned warfare' all need a well-written and unbiased book that comes from an ethically neutral perspective. Such a book also needs to lay out the issues in an accessible, yet not too simplistic, manner. Thankfully, former US Air Force Academy instructor and classically trained philosopher, Bradley Jay Strawser, has put together an edited collection that goes a great way toward filling the gap: Killing by Remote Control: The Ethics of an Unmanned Military (2013).
