摘要

On its face, the incident reported by 1LT Moore seems to be a non-issue: A corporal - likely trying to shake off the boredom of managing a quiet detention facility by showing off for his SFC - takes a stroll through what is known to be a low-threat compound. True, he did this unarmed, without the consent or knowledge of his commander, but his actions had no negative consequences. Demoting and re-assigning the corporal seems to be a strong reaction to what was nothing more than a thoughtless prank.
