摘要

The discussers would like to thank the authors for proposing a new equation [Eq. (21)] for the estimation of critical velocity based on the gene-expression programming (GEP) and using the available data, and would like to draw attention to some points. As mentioned by the authors, the GEP model is preferred over the ANFIS model, as the latter does not produce an explicit formula. Explicit formulas are useful for the practitioners in the estimation of critical velocity in a pipeline. Many investigators have proposed explicit equations for the estimation of the critical flow velocity, and the authors also aim to propose a new equation based on the gene-expression programming (GEP). However, the steps and the results of a scientific research should be repeatable and reproducible.
