This year's Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) Prize in Labor Economics has been awarded to Daniel S. Hamermesh (University of Texas at Austin; Royal Holloway, University of London). The prestigious award honors his fundamental contributions to the analysis of labor demand. The Prize was presented during a festive ceremony organized by IZA on November 28 in Washington DC. "With his boundless creative energy and uplifting spirit, Dan Hamermesh is a constant source of inspiration for young researchers. He has a unique talent to pose new research questions in labor economics and come up with surprising answers," said Klaus F. Zimmermann, editor in chief of the Journal of Population Economics, in his function as IZA Director.
