Feature of changing the TTC uplink frequency by command from Ground Station, accords the satellite fleet operator the liberty to reposition the spacecraft into a different orbital slot during the lifetime of the spacecraft. It offers a solution to the problem of frequency interference that is major roadblock in a fixed frequency Receiver. For a double super heterodyne Receiver, change in the receive frequency essentially is to program the Local Oscillator LO frequencies such that the second Intermediate Frequency IF remains fixed. This paper describes how the e2v Frequency Synthesizer PE9763's Direct/Serial Programming capability is leveraged to design a Local Oscillator to achieve these ends.
