摘要

The micro and nano satellites are preferred due to their small size, low mass, low cost and less fabrication time. ISRO Nano Satellite (INS) was developed as a versatile platform of 10 kg class which can carry a payload with four-kilogram mass. This paper presents the salient features and configuration of the INS-1C. The INS bus design is based on miniaturized subsystems and mainframe structure. The spacecraft bus is developed to carry different payloads without significant change in the bus. It offers a quick turn-around time and low cost platform to verify and evaluate new technologies and payloads. INS has been developed to be launched as a co-passenger to bigger operational satellites and to optimise available resources of PSLV and SSLV launch vehicles. Primary objectives of INS are providing a standard satellite bus for launch on demand services and opportunity to carry innovative payloads.
