摘要

The reliability of wires and cables for space application is very important and they have to be evaluated under different environmental conditions like vacuum, radiation and temperature. Traditionally, gamma irradiation technique has been used to ascertain the radiation tolerance of the wire insulation. Though this technique is reliable, it is time consuming and Expensive. It takes a few months to achieve the required dose level over the wire surface at the Rate encountered in the space environment.
