Two types of space grade wires viz., Raychem SPEC-55 (XLETFE) and Sanghvi (Kapton) were subjected to electron irradiation to study the nature of electrostatic discharge in the wires. Electron irradiation was carried out with the help of 40 keV electrons using a scanning electron microscope and 1MeV electrons using a microtron.
