摘要

The Power System for the IRS-1C satellite is designed to meet the various mission requirements related to the PAN, the LISS-3 and the WiFS payload cameras. The satellite bus used for the IRS-1A/1B is extended/modified to suit the specific requirements of the IRS-1C. The satellite is powered by two sided deployable suntracking rigid solar panels of 4.8m each, to cater to the DC power requirements of the subsystems in the satellite and also for the management of the two 21AH Ni-Cd batteries. This paper deals with the design approach, trade-off studies, system capabilities and special features of the power system, namely, Solar Arrays, Batteries and Power Electronics.
