摘要

This study attempts to use system dynamics to provide policies that would help to tackle a dominant company's shrinking fixed-line market share, and address competitors' prospective roles in the overall market. By analysing marketing data from the telecommunications industry, this study found that users migrated to newcomers which bundled mobile or broadband services with a fixed-line connection, in contrast to the simple fixed-line service offered by the dominant company. Furthermore, and to help participants in their decision making, this study also found that new players could take a share of the telecommunications market by providing a fixed-line service and applications from innovative communication technologies, if possible. The dominant telecommunications company must offer more value-added fixed-line and broadband services-such as multimedia on demand (MOD) or applications extending from existing broadband services-to keep revenue growing and increase subscribers' use of other profitable services.
