Good News! In 2010, both the Textile Institute and The Journal of The Textile Institute will celebrate their 100th anniversaries.rnThe Textile Institute was inaugurated on April 22, 1910 in Manchester, UK at the Midland Hotel. At the time of its inauguration, it had 150 members. The stated aims of the new Institute were "to encourage the application of science and the scientific method to the (textile) industry, and to encourage the free exchange of knowledge". The Institute will celebrate its centenary at the 2010 World Conference in Manchester on November 3 and 4,2010.
