Temperature distributions of the fluid and pipeline (direct problem) are obtained by using the explicit finite difference method. Optimum transient fluid temperature changes at the Met of the pipeline were determined from the solution of the Voltera integral equation of the first kind. Influence of the heating medium pressure on the thermal stresses is presented. The Duhamel integral was solved numerically using the rectangle method.
