This attractive new text book, with an impressive array of contributors, is designed to provide an up-to-date introduction to transport geography for students on geography and related courses. By-and-large it succeeds. It is written and produced in a student-friendly format, it is well illustrated with a good range of examples, has copious references for further reading and deliberately seeks to move transport geography beyond a pre-occupation with routes and transport modes to engage directly with some of the 'new mobilities' literature (hence the title which links transport geography to mobilities, flows and spaces). The volume consists of 14 relatively short chapters and is divided into three (unequal) sections. Chapters 1-5 introduce the key concepts that underpin an understanding of transport geographies, chapters 6-12 review selected examples of different transport flows and spaces (and the interactions between these), whilst the final two chapters focus on transport futures and the future of transport geography.
