摘要

The multidisciplinary field of real-time image and video processing has experienced a tremendous growth over the past decade, as evidenced by a large number of real-time related articles that have appeared in various journals, conference proceedings, and books. Although different possible algorithms for solving an image/video processing problem may exist, in designing a real-time image/video processing system, having efficient algorithms takes precedence. Efficiency implies low computational complexity. Because of the vast amounts of data associated with digital images and video, developing algorithms that can deal with such amounts of data in a computational efficient manner is a challenging task.
