In conclusion I agree with Le Roux that results need to be taken with caution but, basing on my most recent experiments and calculation, I firmly believe that in the case that particle parameters have substantial error bars, the most promising approach is a statistical study of the physical and mathematical solutions of Eqs. (3) and (4), as I suggested previously. This kind of approach has also some merit in the discussion of the impact of pyroclastic density currents, because hazard assessment itself is based on a statistic approach.
