On a November evening, summoned, as I was, from our rural fastness in Herefordshire to the traffic, bustle (and horrendous parking charges) and bright lights of Bristol by Lyndsay Hughes of the Education Department of the Art Centre, to investigate the whys and wherefores of giving a Saturday afternoon short conversation/ explanation/ comment/ informal chat, to whomsoever is interested in the artist weaver, Anni Albers. It became an evening of illumination, nostalgia and immense respect for what went on at Black Mountain College in North Carolina between 1933 and 1957.
