The preparation of 40/100 ZrO_2, 20/100 Y_2O_3 reactive powders alloy was carried out by several different methods to decrease firing times and sintering temperatures. Innovative milling processes such as Mechanofussion (MF) and Mechanical alloying (MA) were used while starting powders were both obtained from traditional oxydes and from pyrolitic precurcors. After milling treatments, the powders were pressed, sintered to 1400 deg.C and characterized by density measurements, XRD and SEM/EDAX techniques.
