The chemical recycling of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) by the hydrolytic depolymerization reaction under pressure was studied in order to produce its monomers, terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol. Without using any catalyst, high recovery rates of the Monomers, especially terephthalic acid, were obtained Vapor pressure of water at the temperatures.
