Lispinus bellavistae sp.n. (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Osoriinae) is described from Ecuador. All species of Lispinus Erichson recorded from Ecuador are presented and a key to the species of the genus is provided. Lispinus neotropicus Irmler, 1994 is synonymised with L. catena Sharp, 1876. The ecology and geographical distribution of the Ecuadorian Lispinus species are discussed.
