Urban promotion districts are specified by the city planning law of Japan to promote the urbanization. However, agricultural land in the urban promotion area is useful to keep the open space for comfortable urban living or to protect from disasters. So, the relevant preservation of the farmland in the urban area should be considered at a city planning. This paper aims to study the existing conditions and spatial structure of the farmland in the Urban promotion area of Fukuoka City.
