This paper describes experimental and theoretical studies on combustion characteristics in a free board of an internal fluidized-bed furnace for development of steam-driven power gener- ating system using livestock-wastes as fuel. Experiments are carried out for combustion of broiler excrement, swine excrement and their mixtures. Numerical simulations are also carried out to an- alyze the combustion characteristics in the furnace by using finite volume method.
