Study on the Relationship between Land-use Changes and Urban Climate in Shenzhen City of China

摘要

Rapid urbanization and land-use/cover changes are taking place in coastal areas of China. The land-use/cover changes generally cause impact on urban climate such as the formation of heat island. This paper takes up Shenzhen City as an example of Chinese cities that have experienced very rapid economic development and significant changes in lad-use, and urban climatic responses to the land use/cover changes are investigated by three-dimensional turbulence closure model for the years of 1980, 1988 and 1994. In order to solve the data shortage, satellite data such as Landsat MSS/TM and SPOT data are used to obtain the land-use and elevation for the three years. The results demonstrate that the temperatures of the high temperature areas in 1994 are 2-3 deg C higher than those in 1980, and the high temperature areas have become larger in accordance with the expansion of urbainzed area.
