Crowdsourcing involves sourcing information or other input from a large and undefined group of people (the crowd) about a particular situation or activity. In relation to transport, crowdsourced information could potentially be used to meet many information needs across the transport sector. Examples are to provide traveller information, support network operations, and manage road safety and transport assets.
