Sydney: A Landscape Articulated was an exhibition and discussion held on the evening of 12 June 2015 at the new Frank Gehry-designed Dr Chau Chak Wing Building at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). Bringing together around 150 student and practitioner landscape architects, this event provided a moment of reflection on the past fifteen years of landscape architectural practice in Sydney, with an eye toward its future. Opening the night, second-year UTS landscape architecture student work made three contributions. First, large-scale mappings investigating the biophysical, cultural, infrastructural, built and ecological character of the greater Sydney region. Second, student design proposals for a new park at Johnstons Creek in Glebe. Lastly, five recently conceived (and award-winning) post-Olympic Sydney landscape architecture precedents were showcased: Ballast Point, Sydney, Pirrama, Prince Alfred and Joynton Parks.
