According to the Pakistan Tanners Association, Pakistan doesn't benefit from the free trade agreement with China, as the leather industry is still paying about 9% import duty on its export goods to China owing to non-implementation of zero-duty under FTA regime. "With a view to enhance bilateral trade, Pakistan and China, around seven years back, had signed an FTA under which the countries decided to facilitate each other's exporters -exempting duty on their export," said the Pakistan Tanners Association central chairman, Saqib Masood.
