One of the most important aspects of the flat product rolling process, which is often underestimated, is the application of coolant to the mill rolls. Precise and mastered cooling must be applied if flatness and dimensional accuracy are to be attained. This paper will describe and illustrate the technology, importance and practicality of this function. Implementation of these concepts will not only realize significant improvements in product quality, but the attendant side benefits will reveal substantial operational and financial savings.%Lun des paramètres essentiels - souvent sous-estimé - dans le process de laminage de produits plats, est l'application du liquide de refroidissement.
