摘要

The essay sketches and analyzes the process of love between Ruth Berlau and Bertolt Brecht as well as between Dora Maar and Pablo Picasso. It is oriented by a theory of love, which Roland Barthes unfolded in his study “Fragments of a language of love”. The empirical analysis relies on “figures”, which, as Barthes writes, pop up in the heads of lovers, which coin the ”dis-cursus” of lovers and structure the course of “lovetales”, without a firm order or succession. Selected out of a multitude of figures, which are put into an alphabetical order by Barthes, are: “encounter”, “expectation”, “adorability”, “dependence” and “decline”.
