For the staff time involved and the cost, we feel the Boopsie mobile device application is a good investment. Cummings et al. (2010) reported findings of a survey targeting whether users would access a library OPAC via handheld device. Their results show close to 60 per cent would take advantage of this kind of service. They further indicate that the expanding use of mobile devices means libraries ought not to approach this question lightly. Considering that the Boopsie app allows libraries to include features beyond just the OPAC is what makes this particular technology so appealing. We feel strongly that this mobile app is an essential part of providing library services and resources to our students. It is further hoped that this app will play a significant role in helping to create a sense of place for the mobile learner.
