Working with an aircraft shop is really no different from other service shops other than in many ways there are even less constraints on how much they can oversell on what you really need. Who would argue with an FAA certified mechanic? An owner with knowledge, that's who. It could save you lots of money by getting what you absolutely need, not what they want to sell you.
