摘要

While removing the top cowl from my O-300-powered Cessna for an oil change, I noticed the cylinders had some slight salmon-pink color to them-mostly on the cylinder fins. The color doesn't completely cover the cylinder; it just looks like paint over-spray. Also, it looks as if the paint has thinned on the front side of the cylinders, and a thin dark line has appeared lengthwise on the barrel. The engine has around 700 SMOH, and the cylinders were ground P .015 oversize during the rebuild. The pistons were new at that time. Is this an overheating problem, and can I expect problems down the road? The discoloration is only on the center and rear cylinders, not on the front two.
