摘要

Magnetos firing are like the heartbeat of a reciprocating aircraft engine. When there is an indication of possible trouble, it needs to be investigated before further operation. Regardless of hours the flown, magnetos must be airworthy and will deteriorate just sitting.rnDuring a routine annual inspection we discovered that a Bendix S4LN-21 magneto had an excessive mag drop during engine run up. We found oil residue inside the problem magneto, and that both magnetos had not been removed from the engine for internal inspection since 1988.
