What we want to cover in this article are the steps to be taken before the cylinders are mounted on the engine. This inspection process is relatively simple, but somehow quality control often gets completely skipped in the field. Yet time-after-time the anecdotal evidence is clear that some manufacturers and cylinder overhaulers are not doing an adequate quality control job on their new or overhauled products before sending them out the door.
