After an absence of over a decade, Kelly Aerospace is now in the oil filter business again. Back in 1990 they had marketed the Champ filter for a while, and then dropped it. For 2004, they are back with an updated design, fully PMA approved. Interestingly, Champion has chosen this time to come out with a new model to their existing line of filters. Because of these two new choices, we have embarked on a test and story for Aviation Consumer and LPM in upcoming issues. LPM will concentrate more on the maintenance aspects of any test findings.
