The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Piper Aircraft, Inc. Model PA-44-180 and PA-44-180T airplanes. This AD requires an inspection and, if necessary, modification of the emergency gear extension cable. This AD was prompted by a report of a misrouted emergency gear extension cable. The FAA is issuing this AD to correct the unsafe condition on these products. DATES: This AD is effective January 20, 2016.
