It's not ghosts in the machine or in the intercom that cause most of the pops, squeals, hisses and clicks in your headphones. There you sit with nearly $35,000 worth of high-priced, high-tech gear crammed into your instrument panel. If it is on a fixed, seemingly timed schedule of noise, it could well be the strobes and/or a very weak battery (or you forgot to turn the avionics master switch on. (Modern autos shut off automatically if forgotten. How hard would this be?) With all this stuff, you should be able to navigate from here to there while talking with controllers and your passengers, while they listen to their favorite CD as well-at least in a perfect world.
